2010 Winter Carnival and Chili Contest

This year, the Better Middlebury Partnership's Winter Carnival and Chili Contest promises to be bigger and better than last year's award-winning, inaugural event. Mark the date now on you calendars - February 27 from 2 to 4 PM.  There will be plenty of Chili to sample along the sidewalks of Middlebury as well as a sled dog demonstration and snowshoe races on the Green.  In addition to these Better Middlebury Partnership activities the Town Hall Theater will host a Mardi Gras Party at 8 PM.  Middlebury College has a host of Winter Carnival athletic contests going on all weekend as well as the Vermont A Capella Summit.  


The new Better Middlebury Partnership website is under construction. All members will receive notification when new portions of the site are completed. It will be worth waiting for!

The new site will offer business partners increased visibility of their business in our business directory.It will offer members and the public more information about local events and issues.

More Historic Streetlights Coming

The Better Middlebury Partnership secured another grant to help Middlebury make its next installation of historic streetlights.  This installation will extend the fixtures from the Cross Street Bridge (currently under construction) to and around the Main Street Rotary that will be built in 2010.


Winter Carnival and Chili Contest

The Middlebury Winter Carnival and Chili Contest is set for February 27, 2010, from 2-4 PM.  The event was voted one of the ten best winter events by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce after its debut in 2009. yummy.jpg  A major attraction is the community-wide professional and amateur chili contest on the sidewalks of the historic downtown.

Popular vote determines the contest winners in a variety of categories.
